Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born in Torquay on 15th september 1890. She was educated at home and her first published work was a poem about electric trams.During The Great War she work in a dispensary where she acquired her knowledge of poisons - central to the plot of her first novel "The Mysterious Affair at Styles".
